Made with Love

I love creating. I like to imagine the joy of the wearer as they feel gorgeous ready for their day, or the dancer as they step confidently onto the stage feeling amazing in their costume. I try to put a lot of love into every item I create.

It all starts with an idea, or a small piece of inspiration from something that brought me joy in my own day, and that was the case one day as I admired the beauty and elegance of Kowhai flowers as they danced in the wind dangling from the trees delicate branches.

What better inspiration could there be for fairy dresses than the inspiring beauty of nature, so with my sketch book in hand I drew the flower before me, thinking how very much the shade of its delicate petals matched the yellow chiffon sitting in my sewing room.

Two fairy dresses followed, designed to dance in the wind just like those delicate flowers, with layers of yellow chiffon in petal skirts, shades of the leaves and stems in the bodice and sequins giving a shimmer like the drops of rain that still clung to the flowers that day.

Nature is always full of inspiration, add a little love, and amazing things happen.
