Time and the creation of a dream

This time four years ago I would never have believed it would have taken this long to get here, and be taking Pakawow to the world. It had been a dream of mine for a long time to be able to share my creations, but also just that, a dream, as I was busy raising a family and working, as you do. With the loss of my job coming into the start of covid I sat one day wondering what I would try next and thought to myself that if I was ever going to try and make my dream a reality then now was the time, because there's never really any better time than now if you want to try something, and I reminded myself that if you always wait for tomorrow, tomorrow never comes.
I looked in my fabric box's and found some pieces and began to sew. The first few pieces were created, but I quickly ran low on supplies and without the funds coming in to buy more it seemed that was as far as I would get. I also spent hours trying to come up with what I could call this thing of mine if somehow I could make it work. I came up with plenty of name ideas but none of them were any good.
Just when I thought the dream would continue to be just that, a friend offered me some box's of fabric. I will be forever grateful for her kindness and the countless other helpful hints she has given me along the way. So I continued to create whenever I could, boxing up my creations as I went.
One day as I walked along the beach I realized the name for my brand had been right in front of me the whole time. A simple play of words. Pakawau, the beach where I was walking, and the idea that I wanted my creations to create a feeling of wow for the wearer. And so the name Pakawow was chosen. It seemed to fit perfectly. Garments designed to Pack-a-wow, made in Pakawau, New Zealand.
A few years later, lots of creating and sewing, and time working out how to build a website (but that's another story in itself) and finally Pakawow is ready to share with the world.
I hope you enjoy my creations as much as I have enjoyed creating them.
Thankyou for being here and being a part of making my dream come true.
